Last year Latrobe Valley saw the launch of the first annual Hello. Day â a celebration and promotion of kindness and social connection. Hello. Day forms part of the Hello. Campaign, a Latrobe Health Innovation Zone initiative supported and led by the Latrobe Health Assembly. The day is back this Saturday, 22nd May, where the community will be encouraged to greet each other as they go about their day.
As simple as it sounds, Hello. Day is just a prompt for the community to say âhelloâ to those around them. Visual prompts for the event include t-shirts, over 300 of which were distributed amongst the community in 2021, and a range of other branded materials featuring the word âHello.â This yearâs event will mark the rollout of a series of Hello. initiatives over the next 6 months.
Latrobe Health Assembly Chair, Miss Tanya Rong, says âHello. Day encourages us to connect with each other and is an important reminder for us all to be kind and look after each other.â
âThis year we have many exciting ideas to celebrate Hello. Day and we encourage everybody in Latrobe to get involved and say hello!â
The Hello. Campaign launched in 2019 as a joint-initiative with Lifeline Gippsland and has now engaged thousands of Latrobe Valley residents.
